Frequently asked questions
What is a WhatsApp session?
A session corresponds to one connected WhatsApp number. You can have multiple active sessions simultaneously — one for each number you want to manage.
Does Hooki send messages on its own, or do I need an external system?
Hooki is a transport layer only. It has no contact list and doesn't generate messages on its own. You (or your CRM, e-commerce, or management system) decide who to contact and what to send — by calling Hooki's API or configuring a webhook.
Do I pay per message?
No. The FREE plan has a daily limit, the SEND ONLY plan has a configurable monthly limit up to 10,000, and the FULL plan is unlimited. No additional cost per message.
Do I need a Meta Business account?
No. Hooki is an unofficial solution: it uses the standard WhatsApp Web protocol — the same technology used by the web.whatsapp.com browser client — not the official Meta Cloud API. No Meta approval, no partnership required, instant setup.
Do I need to keep my phone always on and connected?
Yes. The phone with the WhatsApp Business app installed must stay on and connected to the Internet, exactly as you would for normal daily use of your number. WhatsApp only recognizes and tolerates linked devices (multi-device) if the main phone is active. Also, to strongly reduce the risk of bans/blocks, the number must have realistic usage on the phone too (replying to messages, normal conversations, real contacts) — not just automated sends from the platform. A number that sends thousands of messages with no manual activity from the phone is the first red flag for WhatsApp.
Do I need WhatsApp Business, or does regular WhatsApp work?
We strongly recommend WhatsApp Business. Regular WhatsApp tends to disconnect frequently and is less stable for automated integrations. For professional, continuous use, WhatsApp Business is essential.
Can I receive incoming messages on my number?
Only on the FULL plan. FREE and SEND_ONLY plans open the WhatsApp connection but discard incoming messages. The FULL plan includes receiving, full two-way history, and incoming webhooks.
What happens if WhatsApp disconnects?
You get an immediate notification (email + WhatsApp + in-app). Hooki's monitoring system attempts automatic reconnection in the background. If it can't reconnect, you can do it yourself from the dashboard by scanning the QR again — no need to contact anyone.
Can I change session mode at any time?
Yes. You can switch from FREE to SEND ONLY or FULL at any time from the panel. Some features (like the bidirectional webhook) require the FULL plan.
When does the monthly message counter reset?
On the 1st of each calendar month UTC — not from your plan activation date.
How much does the Agency plan cost?
The Agency plan itself has no fixed cost: the price varies based on the number of active sessions and the modes chosen (FREE / SEND ONLY / FULL). Client creation is unlimited. To see the exact price, simply request a demo: once your account is activated, you'll find the live, up-to-date details in the "Your plan" section of the dashboard. Among the most competitive on the market.
What's the difference between the Maker and Agency plans?
The Maker manages only themselves: 1 WhatsApp session, no clients to resell. The Agency manages multiple clients with dedicated sessions, customisable white-label dashboard, separate webhooks per client, and internal sessions of their own (My Numbers). If you need more numbers or clients, the Agency plan is the right choice.
Does it work with WordPress, WooCommerce, or other systems?
Yes. There's a native WordPress plugin (downloadable from the Integrations area) supporting WooCommerce, WPForms, Bookly, and MemberPress. For any other system that can make HTTP calls, it works via REST API or a generic webhook.
Do I need a developer to integrate it?
It depends on your use case. For WordPress, Booknetic, or Framework360: no, it's plug-and-play. For custom integrations with your CRM or back-office: yes, you'll need someone to call the documented REST API (Swagger online with ready-to-use cURL examples).
What if my CRM sends a number with a double prefix or a leading 00?
Hooki automatically normalizes the most common cases: the 00 international exit prefix (e.g. 00393331234567 → +39 333…) and double country prefixes (e.g. 3939… → 39…) for Italy, Spain, France, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Croatia. The correction is silent — the message goes out normally — and logged in the admin panel for full traceability.

Dedicated server in a certified European Union datacenter. GDPR compliant, public DPA available (see Subprocessors page for details).
